Exterior Wash
Exterior car wash is a process of cleaning the outer surface of a vehicle to remove dirt, grime, and other contaminants. It's typically done to maintain the appearance of the car and protect its paint and finish. The process involves several steps to ensure thorough cleaning without damaging the vehicle's surface.
Here's a brief explanation of the exterior car wash process:
Prepare the Equipment: Ensure you have a pressure washer with a foam cannon attachment, car wash soap, buckets, wash mitts or sponges, and a hose.
Foam the Car and Wheels: Spray the wheels first to loosen dirt, then attach the foam cannon and foam the entire car. To foam the car, you must remove the spray nozzle, it is a quick release but if you don't hold the nozzle in firmly, it will not lock.
Relieve Pressure from the Pressure Washer: After foaming, switch off the pressure washer and squeeze the gun to relieve pressure in the pump, otherwise damage can occur.
Start Washing from the Top Down: Begin washing from the top of the car, working your way down to the windshield, under the wipers, bonnet, and the other side of the roof. N.b the centre portion of the roof is hard to reach. A good tip is to stand on the wheels of the car or open the door to stand in the car, after standing in the car it is very important to wipe down the door sill as your wet feet will leave marks.
Wash in Straight Lines with Overlapping Patches: Use straight lines when washing with a sponge, moving from left to right and top to bottom. Overlap each patch by about 50% horizontally and vertically to ensure thorough cleaning.
Window Mould Removal:To remove mould from the windows, hold the pressure washer closer to it and move vertically to flush it out. See mould removal 5
Clean Door Handles, Corners, and Underneath the Car: Pay attention to areas like door handles and corners. Clean underneath the car before moving on, and wipe the door shut afterward.
Clean Wheels and Tyres: Work clockwise with two fingers to clean the wheels and use the sponge to loosen dirt on the tyres.
Rinse the Ground Twice: Before rinsing the car, shoot the ground twice to ensure the nozzle is locked in and prevent damage.
Rinse from Top Down Including Door Shuts and Wheel Arches: Start rinsing from the top down, ensuring to rinse door shuts and wheel arches thoroughly.
Spray Windshield Bottom and Bonnet: Spray the bottom of the windshield to remove leaves, and rinse the bonnet in a certain manner (like in video) to conserve water.
Spray the boot Shut to Prevent Interior Soaking: Spray the boot shut in a particular way to prevent water from entering the interior.
Apply Wax: Once rinsed, use wax and spray it over the entire car except for the wheels.
Remove Excess Water with a Blade Before Towel Drying: Use a blade to remove excess water before towel drying to prevent towels from getting excessively soaked.
Inspect the Car: Take a step back and inspect the car, paying particular attention to lower areas and wheel arches
